...as the topic of our 2nd blog post. A weekend in the direction of Valle Stura. Let's start at a very special rock...
...the descent is rather adventurous. We abseil down. 40+ meters into the void. At the bottom, a roaring river and an inviting riverbed... and then in front of us: a wall like no other. 40+ meters of the finest slab.
...we love slab climbing. A balancing act and a lot of mental work. And let's be honest, with a backdrop like this, this place is a 10/10.
Here are a few impressions:
A climbing day for advanced climbers. First step: abseiling 40 meters. This can get your heart beating a little faster. And what the whole thing looks like exactly....
... quite high, isn't it?
And at the bottom, 40 meters of the finest slab. While the grade is relatively homogeneous and not extremely difficult, the length still makes the whole thing quite exciting - and let's be honest, who likes falling on slabs?
...and in addition to all the climbing, there was also the occasional - VERY - short dip in the - VERY - cold river. One of the group also practiced rocky balance (see photo) and, of course, snacks were not to be missed.
...and after a really nice, loud (yes, the river is pretty loud when you're right in a canyon) and exhausting day, we headed back... well, and that meant climbing 40 meters (including equipment and rucksacks). Thank goodness we saved some energy for that.
Afterwards, we went to sleep at a riverbed after a very nice barbecue evening with friends... where then, the day after we enjoeyd the river for a bit of relax and recovery. We also decided to make a campfire there in the evening. A day full of relaxation and nature just the way we like it....
Pablo relaxing and trying to hide from the flies.
...pretty pretty! <3
'Steckerlbrot' - childhoood dreams!
...YUM!
The next day and last of our extended weekend, after waking up by the beautiful river, we headed off into the mountains and rounded off our adventure in Valle Stura with a rather spontaneous hike in the mountains (we actually wanted to go climbing again, but the rock wasn't quite as exciting and completely different to what we had expected).
Good Morning Sunshine!
...a crag that could certainly be interesting for beginners and therefore also for our beginner-groups, but for us personally there were somehow not quite so interesting grades and routes. Good to check it out anyhow!
...but then a spontaneous hike!
Views - TOP!

...and with a “summit picture - well, we didn't actually go to a summit this time - we say goodbye for this blog post.
Ciao & thanks for reading! ;)
